They are searching for the "Pálinka Bonbon of the Year" at the incredible gastronomy competition in Gyula, Hungary, the Pálinka Capital.

The city of Gyula, the capital of pálinka, is the birthplace of Hungary's first and still the largest pálinka festival. A pioneering pálinka and distillate competition was also introduced in conjunction with the festival. Now, a competition based on international experience, called the Gyula Pálinka Festival, is being held as a side event to the Pálinka Candy of the Year competition.

The purpose of the competition is to encourage the shared enjoyment of pairing Hungarian pálinka with high-quality chocolates, as well as to facilitate collaboration between Hungarian artisanal chocolate workshops, confectioners, restaurants, catering establishments, and companies that produce quality fruit pálinka. The competition runs from 6 March 2023 to 24 April 2023, and the winners will be announced on 27 May.
