Zimek Sour Cherry 55

Zimek Distillery

These type of sour cherries became native to Hungary during the Turkish occupation in the 15th century and are known in the Middle East as mahaleb. The plant contains an alkaloid called kamarin, which gives this fruit a delicate, wildflower scent. The small black berries are thin-fleshed and bitter. A real curiosity, the fruit has a particularly strong aroma and the fact that it is marketed at a high sugar level strengthens the harmony of taste and the fullness of this pálinka.

Tasting notes

This pálinka mixes slightly bitter scents with - at the same time - sweet characters. Pleasantly fruity and nutty notes and a deep sweet aftertaste. This pálinka is 110 Proof of alcohol but still pleasantly oily and fruity.
